What is ITER?
何为ITER
ITER is a joint international research and development project that aims to demonstrate the scientific and technical feasibility of fusion power. The partners in the project - the ITER Parties - are the European Union (represented by EURATOM), Japan, the People´s Republic of China, India, the Republic of Korea, the Russian Federation and the USA. ITER will be constructed in Europe, at Cadarache in the South of France.
ITER是一个全球合作并旨在演示、验证人工利用核聚变能的科学性与技术可行性科研项目。项目成员-团体-包括：欧盟、日本、中国、印度、韩国、俄罗斯以及美国。ITER实验室建于法国南部的Cadarache

Fusion is the energy source of the sun and the stars. On earth, fusion research is aimed at demonstrating that this energy source can be used to produce electricity in a safe and environmentally benign way, with abundant fuel resources, to meet the needs of a growing world population.
核聚变是太阳和恒星的能量来源。地球上核聚变研究的目的是验证此种能量可否在不破坏环境并且安全的前提下用来发电。充分利用其巨大的燃料资源以应对全球人口的不断增长而对能源的需要。
